Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the title dispersant capable of providing a bead polymer having a large particle diameter and excellent water absorption property etc., by constituting a copolymer of a specified MW made of a vinyl monomer having a polyalkylene glycol chain in its molecule. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer having an average MW in the range of 1,000-1,000,000 is prepd. by copolymerizing a vinyl monomer having a polyethylene glycol chain and/or a polypropylene glycol chain in its molecule (e.g., methoxypolyethylene glycol methacrylate or polypropylene glycol diacrylate) and a copolymerizable monomer (e.g., acylic acid or stearyl acrylate) in the presence of an initiator (e.g., benzoyl peroxide). A polymer is prepd. by using the copolymer thus obtd. as a dispersant for reverse-phase suspension polymn.
