PURPOSE: To read out color code efficiently, by simultaning the display data read out from a memory and a color code, supplying them to a color receiving tube and designating the display of the display data with the color code.

CONSTITUTION: The horizontal address is designated with the output of a counter 45 and the color code and pattern data of memories 34, 35 are read out at the same time. The pattern data read out from the memory 35 is applied to a parallel serial shift register 36, and a converted serial signal is applied to a color generator 37, and the color code read out from the memory 34 is applied to the generator 37 and the data signal is made to the three primary color signal and applied to a switch circuit 15. In this case, a control signal is applied from a forming circuit 42 to the circuit 15, which is switched to the generator 37 side. Thus, desired pages for the character broadcast can by displayed on the picture tube 26.
