To provide a display which has an excellent display quality without causing deterioration in manufacturing yield and can have a long lifetime.
The display is provided with an active area 102 composed of a plurality of pixels, and has an array substrate 100 having an organic EL element 40 of self light-emitting nature arranged in each pixel, a metal layer 500 which is arranged at the surrounding 104 of the active area and has light reflection property, and a metal oxide layer 600 which is laminated on the metal layer and has light transmission property, a sealing substrate 200 which is arranged opposed to the organic EL element of the array substrate, and a seal member 300 which is arranged in frame shape so as to surround the active area and is made of frit glass adhered to the metal oxide layer, and joints the array substrate and the sealing substrate.
