Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance quick measurement by determining a correction value based on the time difference in the detection of reflected wave using two detection voltages having different threshold levels thereby allowing real time measurement of distance every time when a light wave or an electromagnetic wave is transmitted.
CONSTITUTION: A receiver 2, comprising a light receiving element 2a and a preamplifier 2b, is connected in parallel, at the output thereof, with comparators 3a, 3b being set with detection potentials S1, S2 having different threshold levels. At a moment when the reflected wave reaches the detection potentials S1, S2 of the comparators 3a, 3b, the comparators 3a, 3b deliver signals to a time difference calculating circuit 4. The calculating circuit 4 calculates a time difference ΔT which is delivered to a microcomputor 5. The computor 5 corrects the distance based on a correction value determined in correlation with the time difference ΔT in the detection of reflected wave using two detection potential S1, S2 thus allowing real time measurement of distance every time when a transmitter 6 transmits a wave.
