Title:
DIVIDED TYPE OPTICAL FIBER TAPE CORE WIRE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04163411
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate an optical fiber to be easily dividable by means of a divided unit by arranging the optical fibers of two core wires in parallel on both sides of the divided unit coated with the soft resin of the specified properties, and coating these arranged ones with the hard resin of the specified properties. CONSTITUTION:A tape core wire 10 consists of a divided unit 12 which coats two core type optical fiber element wires 2, 2 with the soft resin 11 of which Young's modulus is 5kg/mm<2> or less, and a 3-cored element wire 2 arranged on both sides of the unit 12, and each element wire is arranged in parallel, and coated with a hard resin 13 of which Young's modulus is 20kg/mm<2> or more. For the soft resin, there is preferably employed an ultraviolet ray hardened type resin of which Young's modulus ranges from 0.1 to 1.0kg/mm<2> and which can be easily divided between the element wires 2, 2, while for the hard resin 13, there is preferably employed a resin of which Young's modulus ranges from 40 to 80kg/mm<2>. This constitution allows the divided unit 12 to be easily divided between the element wires 2, 2 manually or by means of a simple cutting tool.
