PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document feeding device and an image forming device which are excellent in detection accuracy of a document.SOLUTION: A document feeding device comprises: a regulation member 239 for regulating a front end position of a document G by contacting with the front end of the document G set on a document setting surface 231; a document detection member 243 configured to penetrate the document setting surface 231 in the vertical direction and to be movable in the vertical direction; an energization member for energizing the document detection member 243 upward; and a photosensor 246 having a light emission part 246a and a light reception part 246b, and in which light transmission and light shielding between the light emission part 246a and the light reception part 246b are switched by the document detection member 243 according to whether or not the document G is set on the document setting surface 231. A portion of the document detection member 243 which protrudes upward from the document setting surface 231 straddles the upstream side and downstream side from the regulation member 238 when viewing the document detection member 243 from a direction orthogonal to a feeding direction in a state in which the document G is not set on the document setting surface 231.
