To provide a door closing safety device for an elevator capable of easily reacting to force from any direction for an obstacle at an entrance, being miniaturized to reduce size of an installation space, realizing a simple configuration for reducing failure, and being inexpensively manufactured.

This door closing safety device is provided with a contact bar 2 provided by protruding in a tip part of a door 1 of a car opening and closing the entrance. When the obstacle hits on the contact bar, it is pulled in to invert the door of the car. The contact bar 2 is supported through an elastic body 4 to oscillate and displace.
