Abstract:

To provide a paper sheet treatment device and a paper sheet treatment method capable of piling up the paper sheets fed to a tray at stable attitude.

The post-treatment device has a stand-by tray 4 for receiving the paper sheets fed from a digital copying machine; a treatment tray for receiving the paper sheets dropped off from the stand-by tray 4; and a stapler for staple-treating a rear end aligned by the treatment tray. After the first sheet of the paper sheets is fed to the stand-by tray, a stand-by tray roller 32 is reversed and the paper sheets is slightly returned. After the rear end is arranged at a retaining position on the receiving part 42, the rear end is pressed by a pressing member 60 and the second sheet of paper sheets is received.
