Abstract:
PURPOSE:To tilt a king pin shaft largely and reduce the extent of manual steering effort, by connecting both upper and lower arms to a knuckle supporting a wheel, while forming the upper arm into an A type, and connecting both ends to the knuckle and a car body. CONSTITUTION:An axle 4 is supported on a knuckle 1 through a bearing free of rotation, and a rear wheel 7 is installed on this axle 4. And, a lower arm 9 is connected to a lower end of the knuckle 1 via a ball joint 8, and the lower arm 9 is pivotally supported on a car body B, while a radial slat 11 is installed in position between an intermediate part of the lower arm 9 and the car body B. On the other hand, a rising part 3 extending as far as the upper vicinity of the rear wheel from the knuckle 1 is formed therein, and a broad end part 17 of an A type upper arm 16 is rockably connected to this rising part 3 via a bracket, while a narrow end part 18 of the A type upper arm 16 is pivotally supported on the body B via a ball joint 23. With this constitution, a king pin shaft K is largely tilted.
