Abstract:

To provide a driving evaluation apparatus in which driving can be evaluated fairly by determining a congestion situation on the basis of congestion information obtained objectively, and a driving evaluation system.

While a vehicle travels, a position of the vehicle is detected by a GPS receiving section 14, congestion information of a road along which the vehicle will travel is acquired by a road traffic information receiving section 15. On the basis of the congestion information, it is determined whether or not congestion occurs in the road along which the vehicle has traveled. Further, a degree of congestion is detected. In accordance with the degree of congestion, driving evaluation target data based on driving behaviors are corrected. Therefore, the evaluation of safety driving or economical driving can be prevented from being decreased by congestion and driving can be evaluated fairly while considering influences of congestion.
