Title:
DRUM FOR MOLDING TIRE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3420741
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire molding drum the diameter of which is variable and which can control the generation of grooves in a tire component member when the member is wound onto the drum and the generation of air banks between layers when the member is wound/laminated to form the layers.
SOLUTION: Segments 16A and 16B having arc-shaped drum periphery forming parts 28 for winding the tire component member are arranged to be able to rotate around a shaft cylinder while being integrated with the cylinder. By moving the segments 16A and 16B across the axis of the shaft cylinder, the diameter of the drum is adjusted. The drum periphery forming parts 28 of the segment 16A and 16B are formed so that the clearance between the adjacent segments 16A and 16B does continue in the axial direction on the periphery of the drum.
