Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent cold rolled steel sheet in surface characteristics by roughening the surface of roll by irradiating the surface of rolling roll with the ion beam with limited accelerating energy.
CONSTITUTION: When the ion beam with 0.1-5KeV accelerating energy is radiated on the surface 1 of rolling roll, Fe atoms in the surface layer of roll are sprung out and minute recessed and projection parts are formed on the surface 1 of roll, because these places where the Fe atoms are sprung out become recessed parts 2 freshly. By using this roll on which uniform surface roughness is given, the excellent cold rolled sheet in surface characteristics can be obtained.
