PURPOSE: To enable automatic operation manually and through a brake pedal, by varying brake torque multistage-wise through automatic operation interlocked with friction brake pedal operation.

CONSTITUTION: When an automatic switch 32 is turned OFF, power supply to electromagnets 4-1∼4-8 in an eddy-current damping unit 3 is controlled through a manual switch 15. When the automatic switch 32 is turned ON, interlocked control with friction brake pedal operation is performed. In other word, power is fed through a brake switch 31 to the electromagnets 4-1∼4-4 through slight stepping of brake pedal. Power is fed through brake switches 31, 33 to the electromagnets 4-1∼4-8 through strong stepping of brake pedal. Consequently, brake operation can be performed easily and accurately.
