Abstract:
To provide an elastic wave element that is excellent in attenuation characteristics in a specific frequency band other than a pass band in order to reduce leakage of input and output signals to an adjacent channel.SOLUTION: An elastic wave element 30 has an IDT electrode 31, a first substrate 10, and a second substrate 20. The first substrate is formed of piezoelectric crystal, has the IDT electrode located on its top face, and has a thickness less than a surface elastic wave wavelength λ defined by twice the repeating interval of a plurality of electrode fingers 32. The second substrate is joined to an undersurface of the first substrate and is formed of Si single crystal in which the plane direction is a (100) surface or a (110) surface and a surface equivalent to these. When the second substrate is seen from the top face of the first substrate superimposed thereon, a crystal axis of the Si single crystal parallel to the top face of the first substrate is inclined with respect to the direction of propagation of an elastic wave at any one angle of 25°-65°, 115°-155°, 205°-245°, and 295°-345°.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
