PURPOSE: To ensure the maximum passing sectional area by fastening a diaphragm having a plurality of axial corrugations having a substantially sine curve section with a fixed thickness in free state to the opposed end surfaces of two rolling stocks to be mutually connected through a fixing flange.
CONSTITUTION: An elastically deformable diaphragm 3 for connecting each vehicle body 1, 2 of a train is connected to the end surfaces (flat surfaces) 6 of the corresponding vehicle bodies 1, 2 by bolting a fixing flange. The diaphragm 3 has a plurality of axially continued corrugations, and an external corrugation 8 is formed so as to follow the gauge of the outer wall of the vehicle most closely while being prevented from being protruded in any case. The corrugations of the diaphragm 3 have a substantially sine curve section with a fixed thickness in free state. Further, the diaphragm 3 has a vertical linear element 10 and curved parts 11, 12, and a continuous or discontinuous fabric or metallic reinforcing material is buried in the linear element 10.
