Abstract:
To provide an electric connector for a safety restraint system.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an electric connector to be installed to a restraint system for a vehicle, more particularity relates to a squib-type connector for an airbag system. The electric connector 100 comprises a housing, two electric terminals 23a, a shunt 27 for short circuiting the two electric terminals 23a, and a connector position assurance (CPA) device 3 for assuring engagement between the connector 100 and a mating connector. The connector is configured in a manner that a connection part which connects a shunt bridge 29 and a shunt arm 33a is engaged with the housing, contact parts 35a are elastically engaged with the electric terminals 23a, and at least either of contact parts 35a of the two shunt arms 33a is changed in position by the CPA device 3 when the CPA device 3 moves to a final position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2A
