To provide an EDI apparatus which definitely restrains the generation of scale in a concentration chamber even in a long-term continuous operation.
The electric deionized water manufacturing apparatus has a desalting chamber in which the anode side is zoned by an anion exchange membrane and the cathode side is zoned by a cation exchange membrane; and the concentration chamber in which the anode side is zoned by a cation exchange membrane and the cathode side is zoned by an anion exchange membrane and an anion exchange body is placed on the anode side of the anion exchange membrane, and a water-permeable body which has no strong basic anion exchange group between the anion exchange body and the cation exchange membrane. Both the chambers are placed between an anode chamber with an anode and a cathode chamber with a cathode.
