To provide a system and a method for monitoring static electrification or electrical discharge generated at a gravure rotary press etc.
One or more antennas 31 are installed around a printing part 3 of the gravure rotary press 1. In addition, an ammeter 51 is connected with a grounding path at one spot arranged at respective constituent elements, formed of a conductor, of the gravure rotary press 1, for example, an involvement preventive bar 29. Besides, a surface potentiometer 41 is arranged near printing paper 5. Output data of the antenna 31, the ammeter 51 and the surface potentiometer 41 are collected by an electrical discharge detector 61. The electrical discharge detector 61 determines the presence of a static discharge or paper electrification on the basis of each piece of output data, and at the same time, sends the output data etc. to a remote terminal device 65 connected through a company network 63, thus making the terminal device 65 display the output data etc in real time mode. Consequently, the static discharge or printing paper electrification can be monitored remotely.
