Title:
ELECTRICALLY VISCOUS FLUID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04139299
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an electrically viscous fluid giving a large electrically viscous effect in a saved electric power and not causing the precipitation and flotation of particles by using a halogenated aromatic or alicyclic carboxylic acid ester as an essential component for an electrically insulating oily liquid.

CONSTITUTION: Fine particles preferably comprising polymer electrolytes having a specific gravity of 1.2-1.6 are dispersed in an electrically insulating oily liquid preferably having a specific gravity of 1.2-1.6 and containing a halogenated aromatic carboxylic acid ester or a halogenated alicyclic carboxylic acid ester (preferably a brominated or chlorinated phthalic acid ester) as an essential component to provide the objective fluid.
