Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the above material which provides rapid color-forming response, shows a high display quality with a high contrast ratio, and has a long life, by using a specified compound as its constituent. CONSTITUTION:The above material contains a compound of formula I (wherein both of R and R<1> are H, or one of them is H and the other is CH3; R<2> is H, alkyl or aralkyl; R<3>, R<4>, R<5>, and R<6> are each H, halogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, aralkyl, aryl, aryloxy, OH, COOH, SO3H or alkoxycarbonyl; R<3> and R<4>, and/or R<5> and R<6> may be combined together to form an aromatic ring which may be substituted; n is 1-1,200) (e.g., a compound of formula II or III). This compound has a simple structure, is easy to obtains, and can afford various colors by changing the substituents. The subject material containing this compound provides a rapid color-forming response, shows a high display quality with a high contrast ratio, and has a long life.
