To provide an electronic component and a producing method therefor, with which the application accuracy or electric characteristics of an external electrode are improved, dimension stability is improved and packability is improve, by sufficiently crushing the terminal part of a conductive member and providing barrel grinding suitably suppressing grinding of a substrate concerning a sintered body having the conductive member protruded from the inside of the substrate.
The terminal part of the conductive member is almost dome- shaped and specified so as to satisfy the relation of Lx2/Lx1 ≥2 when the spread of the terminal part of the conductive member is defined as Lx2 and the cross-sectional dimension of the conductive member is defined as Lx1, and to satisfy the relation of Lr2/Lrw≤0.27 when a length on the long side of a cross section vertical to the lengthwise direction of the conductive member is defined as Lw and a length in the lengthwise direction of the conductive member from the base end of the substrate the conductive member is protruded, to a part having the length Lw on the long side is defined as Lr2. Thus, electric characteristics are improved and the property of packaging onto an electronic circuit board is improved.
