The electronic device includes a body case 1 having a front surface opening 2, a substantially transparent front surface cover 3 which covers the front surface opening 2 of the body case 1 to be freely openable and closable, a front frame 14 arranged at the front surface opening 2 of the body case 1 at the backside of the front surface cover 3, a portable information apparatus holding part 4 arranged to be retractable to the body case 1 via the front surface opening 2 while being arranged in the body case 1, a driver 10 which drives the portable information apparatus holding part 4 to be retractable to the body case 1 while being arranged on the rear surface side of the portable information apparatus holding part 4, and a drive motor 17 which drives the driver 10. After the portable information apparatus holding part 4 is moved out of the front surface opening 2 of the body case 1 by means of the driver 10, the driver 10 is energized to the front frame 14 by the drive motor 17.
