To compensate an expectation value which is used to authenticate a main control board by a simple method, and also, to prevent fraudulent controls from the main control board to a peripheral board, and the leak out of information related to the expectation value and the authentication from occurring.
This electronic equipment includes: the main control board 310; and the peripheral board 330 which performs a specified process conforming to a control command which has been transmitted by the main control board 310. In the electronic equipment, the man control board 310 transmits compensation data for compensating the expectation value which is used for the authentication of the main control board 310, authentication data for authenticating the main control board 310, and dummy data for the compensation data and the authentication data to the peripheral board 330. The main control board 310 selects whether the compensation data is transmitted, or the dummy data of the compensation data is transmitted prior to the completion of the transmission of the authentication data for the portion of a divided number, and transmits the selected data. The peripheral board 330 authenticates the main control board 310 by using the value which has been calculated by performing a dyadic operation to the received authentication data for the portion of a divided number and the compensated expectation value.
