PURPOSE: To largely enhance wear resistance of a cutting edge of a cutting means for an electronic equipment by coating at least the edge of the cutting means made of a transparent material for cutting a material to be recorded with a metal thin film.

CONSTITUTION: This electronic equipment comprises an input means for input information such as a numeric value or the like, a means for calculating by an input signal from the input means, a means for recording a lengthy material to be recorded in response to the signal from the calculating means, and a cutting means made of a transparent material for cutting the material by the recording means and coated at least the edge with the metal thin film. As an embodiment of the equipment, there is a desk-top calculator. In this case, a cutting edge 7a of a paper cutter 7 of the cutting means is coated with the metal thin film 15, and a surface hardness of the edge 7a is cured to improve its wear resistance. The film 15 can be formed, for example, by a film of chemical plating.
