To provide an electronic money fault history management system capable of improving the through put of a safe electronic money box by canceling the lock state of an IC card by detecting that the number of IC cards, with which a fault counter value reaches a prescribed upper limit value, reaches a prescribed number and issuing a command for supplying a fault record to a safe box server.
A safe box control part 31 manages which one of IC cards 15 in a safe electronic money box 11 reaches the lock state of maximum value capable of storing the number of fault records (called fault history full state later). When it is detected the number of IC cards 15 in the fault history full state becomes more than a certain prescribed number, the fault records supplied from the IC cards 15 are stored in a fault history storage device 32 of a safe box server 12. Namely, even when the fault history of the IC card 15 is made full and the IC card 15 is locked, by holding the fault history in the safe box server 12, the lock state of the IC card 15 can be released.
