Abstract:
PURPOSE:To achieve a larger electrostatic capacitance by inserting one electrode into a cylindrical dielectric body comprising ceramics or the like while another electrode is provided on the outer circumference of the dielectric body to make both the electrodes mobile relatively. CONSTITUTION:One electrode 12 formed in a rod is inserted slidably into a cylindrical dielectric body 11 made of ceramics. A metal plating is applied or a metal foil is provided on the outer circumference thereof to make another electrode 13 so that the dielectric body 11 and both the electrodes 12 and 13 compose a capacitor. When one electrode 12 is slid with respect to the dielectric body 11 with the electrode 13 negative and the other electrode 13 positive, opposed areas of both the electrodes change while an electrostatic capacitance varies according to the areas. Thus, by converting the electrostatic capacitance into a displacement, a displacement value of one electrode 12 can be detected.
