To provide an electrostatic printing master plate which is capable of forming a high resolution image and its manufacturing method and an image forming method by which it is possible to form a high resolution image on a matter to be printed with low heat resistance.
This method for manufacturing an electrostatic printing master plate is to form an insulating transfer layer which contains a light absorbing substance and has a volume resistivity falling within the range of 1012-1018Ω.cm on a conducting layer 3 of a conducting base material 2, then laminate an easily adhesive base material on the insulating transfer layer to irradiate the insulating transfer layer with a light in a desired pattern and remove the insulating transfer layer within an irradiation area by peeling the easily adhesive base material after bonding the insulating transfer layer falling within the irradiation area to the easily adhesive base material, and form an insulating pattern layer 4 on the conducting layer 3. The method for forming an image is to electrically charge the insulating pattern layer 4 using an electrostatic printing master plate, then stick a charged toner to the insulating pattern layer 4 or the nonforming area of the insulating pattern layer 4 by a wet process, and stick the charged toner to the matter to be printed and further, dry the charged toner.
