To solve a problem that an indoor space becomes narrow because a space for storing a platform of an elevator is required to store the platform of the elevator indoors.

The platform 20 on which a user rides is lifted and lowered between an ascent position and a descent position and is horizontally moved in the direction in which it leaves an entrance H1 and in the direction in which it approaches the entrance H1 by turning an arm 12, an arm 14, and the platform 20 owing to the cooperative operation of a first drive device 40 and a second drive device 70. Moreover, the platform 20 is held in a horizontal condition in which it is laid on its side substantially horizontally or a stand up condition in which it stands up substantially vertically owing to the cooperative operation of the first drive device 40 and the second drive device 70. Consequently, when the elevator A is used, the platform 20 is put in the horizontal condition to lift up and down by the elevator, and when the elevator A is not used, the platform 20 is put in the stand up condition at the ascent position to block the entrance H1.
