Abstract:
PURPOSE: To secure the comfortableness and safety for a passenger seated on seat on which an enclosable headrest is mounted and to improve the applicability of the headrest to general purposes.
CONSTITUTION: A headrest stay 12 having a horizontal shaft portion 12a at its lower end is loosely inserted into a guide hole 14 having a locking portion 14a and a rotating portion 14b, and is rotatably and slidably mounted on a seat back frame 20. The stay 12 is deviated by the lateral component of forces of a deviation means (extension coil spring) 30 in the direction of locking, and the headrest can be enclosed in the rear of the upper end of the seat back under the action of a downward component of force generated as the stay is unlocked by an unlock means 36.
