This endoscope with the hood is characterized in having an endoscope body 20, the hood projectably and retractably provided relative to the distal end in the distal end of the insertion section 22 of the endoscope body 20, a hood operating section connected to the hood and advancing the hood for projecting it by a prescribed amount from the distal end or retreating the hood. For example, this endoscope with the hood is further provided with a fixing means fixing the hood projecting by the prescribed amount from the distal end, to the distal end.
