To provide a method for repairing a bearing bore of an engine mount of an aircraft without requiring a bearing with a specific dimension.
The bearing bores 38 for engine mount components 36 must be periodically repaired. The component 36 is disassembled and a bearing is removed from the bearing bore 38. An inner face 46 of the bearing bore 38 is machined to remove any damage. A sizing sleeve 40 is selected to have an outer face press-fitted to the machined inner face 46 of the bearing bore 38 and an inner face press-fitted to an outer face 50 of a bearing 48. The bearing 48 is press-fitted to the sizing sleeve 40, and the sizing sleeve 40 is press-fitted to the bearing bore 38. The outer faces of the sizing sleeve 40 and the bearing 48 are swaged to assist in retaining and preventing relative displacement between the bearing 48, the sizing sleeve 40 and the engine mount component 36.
