Abstract:
PURPOSE: To effectively provide recognizable images to a transaction place by a relatively inexpensive device by effectively utilizing halftone images. CONSTITUTION: The data of the storage part of a transaction card 10 are converted to digital signals upon being supplied to a card reader 11. Then, the signals are provided to a processing unit 12, the digital signals are used and compressed and stored images are reconstituted in a limited utilizable space on the transaction card 10. In a suitable example, the digital signal from the transaction card 10 is a number for indicating an image part, a face photograph for instance, selected from a set of the image parts. The signals for indicating the reconstituted images are supplied to a printer/display unit 13 and the printer/display unit 13 supplies the display of the reconstituted halftone color images 15 onto a hard copy or a display device. Since the images of an intermediate color are supplied by the relatively inexpensive device in such a manner, use in a wide range such as minimizing fraud associated with the transaction card 10 or the like is made possible.
