Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method of a polyimide film, capable of simply measuring molecular orientation of a polar surface layer of the polyimide film in a short time.SOLUTION: An evaluation method of a polyimide film comprises the steps of: measuring an infrared spectrum by entering infrared light multiply reflected from at least two different angles through polarizers placed in such a way that polarization directions are parallel and perpendicular to an extending direction of the polyimide film, when measuring the polyimide film by a Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FT-IR); and calculating an intensity value R of a peak derived from a benzene ring in the vicinity of 1500 cm, an intensity value A of a C=O coupling symmetrical stretching vibration peak in the vicinity of 1770-1780 cmand an intensity value B of a C=O coupling asymmetric stretching vibration peak in the vicinity of 1700-1750 cmfrom the obtained infrared reflection spectrum, and calculating relative ratios A/R and B/R of infrared light absorption intensity to determine that a substituent is oriented in a direction of the larger relative ratio.
