An exhauster 25 of a scooter type vehicle 1 is composed of a power transmission case 22 that is installed on one side of a rear wheel 24 and transmits the drive force of an engine 15 to the rear wheel 24. An exhaust muffler 42 is installed on the other side of the power transmission case 22 across the rear wheel 24, and in the exhaust muffler 42, a side surface 43 that faces the rear wheel 24 is formed in a planar shape along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. A gap 45 larger than the width of the rear wheel is formed between a projected end 44a of a rear wheel axle 44 that is pivotally supported by the power transmission case 22 and the side surface 43 of the exhaust muffler 42, the surface 43 facing the rear wheel 24.
