To provide an extensible fishing rod enabling free adjustment to a desired rod length by an angler.
The extensible fishing rod is composed of inner and outer rod members 10, 20, and at least a part (extendable part 201) of the inner and outer rod members 10, 20 has an extendable nested structure. The outer rod member 10 has a tubular form, and the inner rod member 20 form an end part 22 at least a part of which has a tubular form; the circumferential wall of the tubular end part 22 is provided with a plurality of notches 23 extending in the direction of rod axis and opened at an edge 21; and the edge 21 divided to a plurality of sections by a plurality of notches 23 is elastically pressed against the tubular inner wall of the outer rod member 10 to enable extension of the inner rod member 20 to a desired length relative to the outer rod member 10 and automatically stop at the extended position.
