Title:
EXTERIOR PARTS FOR TIMEPIECE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3638509
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide exterior parts for timepieces which are improved in corrosion resistance while maintaining satin-like appearance and further, allow the adoption of measures against metal allergy.
SOLUTION: The exterior parts for timepieces have plating layers 6 of 7 to 12 μm formed by subjecting the surfaces of the parts to Cu satin plating and plating layers 8 of 2 to 5 μm formed by applying Cu-Sn alloy plating or Cu-Sn-Zn alloy plating thereon. The plating layers 6 are formed with the satin surfaces by solid particulates 6a. The plating layers 8 improve corrosion resistance without the impairment of the satin feel. The desired satin feel and gloss may be obtained without using an Ni metal by applying the Cu-Sn alloy plating or Cu-Sn-Zn alloy plating to the plating layers.
