Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrafine flat short fiber having excellent dispersibility, a fine fiber diameter, and a short fiber length; and to provide a water dispersion comprising the same.SOLUTION: An ultrafine flat short fiber is composed of a thermoplastic resin and has a fiber length of 50-1500 μm. In the ultrafine flat short fiber, the fiber thickness of a center part excluding 10% of the length from each of both ends thereof is not uniform. Furthermore, it is preferred that a ratio X of a maximum thickness value Dto a minimum thickness value Din the center part excluding 10% of the length from each of both ends of the ultrafine flat fiber is 1.1 or more and 5.0 or less and that the ultrafine flat fiber curls in a lengthwise direction. In addition, it is preferred that the thermoplastic resin is a polyester-based resin, that the percentage of extracted components is 0.2-3.0 wt.% based on a fiber weight, and that a moisture percentage is 0.2-50 wt.%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
