To provide a fall-preventing device of articles housed in a rack, which reduces the number of parts, which is excellent in the operation reliability of a fall-preventing frame and which can arrange fall-preventing bars at optimal positions in the occurrence of an earthquake.

The fall-preventing device is provided with a rail 30 disposed along both of the side edges of an opening part on the front face of a rack main body 10, the fall-preventing frame 20 where the fall-preventing bars are bridged between side frames 21 which are fitted to the rail 30 slidably corresponding to rack plates 15, a stretching coil spring 81 for biasing the frame 20 upward and an unlocking device 50 which locks the frame 20 at a lowered position against the biasing force of the spring 81 and which unlocks it by sensing a vibration to raise the frame 20 with the biasing force of the spring 81 to arrange the bars 22 at a front face opening part upper than the corresponding plate 15.
