Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Faraday rotator capable of precisely setting a desired Faraday rotation angle with simple adjustment work and a magneto-optics device such as an optical isolator.SOLUTION: A Faraday rotator includes a cylindrical magnet 2 having an open hole through which light passes at a center and a Faraday element 1 that is fixed in the open hole and composed of a paramagnetic substance which light penetrates. A ring type magnetic substance 3 is movably installed in the vicinity of an open-end side of the open hole in the cylindrical magnet 2. A Faraday rotation angle of the Faraday element is adapted to be adjusted by moving the ring type magnetic substance 3 in an optical axis direction. The Faraday rotator according to the present invention is mounted on a magneto-optics device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
