Abstract:

PURPOSE: To shorten the time required for the layout display of a multimedia document with complicated composition by performing the parallel processing of layout display processing, the readout of a display program for that, and that of area data.

CONSTITUTION: A document managing program 800 starts up 131 a layout display program 802c in an area to be displayed next at a time when both a display start request flag and a display completion flag are set at '1's, and informs 132 a display start permission message 812 to a layout display program 801b. Thereby, the display of layout display 802b and the start-up of the layout display program 802c in the area to be displayed next are performed almost simultaneously.
