Abstract:
To obtain the subject compound excellent in foaming property and useful as a detergent for home, a cosmetic base and an ingredient for detergent base in chemical field.
This fatty acid polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether is represented by formula I (R1 and R3 are each an alkyl or an alkenyl; R2 is an alkylene). The compound is obtained by subjecting a fatty acid alkyl ester represented by the formula R1COOR3 to addition polymerization with an alkylene oxide. In this case, the compound of formula I satisfies a numerical formula represented by formula II (Yi is wt.% of (I) addition mole number. A complex metal oxide such as a magnesium oxide to which a metal ion is added is preferably used as a catalyst used for reaction.
