Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having excellent flame-retardancy and easy processability at a low cost by compounding a polypropylene homopolymer with a bromine-based flame-retardant, a flame-retarding assistant and an inorganic filler at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polypropylene homopolymer with (B) >=1 pt.wt. of a bromine- based flame-retardant, (C) >=0.5 pts.wt. of a flame-retarding assistant and (D) <=100 pts.wt. of a filler consisting of an inorganic mixture containing 38-42% CaO, 32-36% SiO2 and 14-36% Al2O3. The amount of the component D is <=15 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. of the component B.
