PURPOSE: To provide a highly reliable flat cable ensuring high mobility and end processing workability, and allowing a cable increase and decrease or color classification, by arranging a plurality of resin shielded cables, and bonding the cables with thermally fusible tapes here and there along the lengthwise direction thereof.

CONSTITUTION: A plurality of resin shielded cables 6 are fed in an array, and bonded here and there with thermocompression bond tapes 8 along the lengthwise direction thereof. A flat cable is thus prepared. This flat cable is cut to the predetermined size, when necessary, and the end thereof is processed for fitting a strip, a terminal, a connector or the like. Then, each cutout cable is processed to form a harness. In this case, the fusible tapes 8 are preferably extended laterally beyond the outer resin shielded cables 6, so as to use the extended extra portion for bonding and integrating another cable. Also, the cable end can be processed to have a step.
