Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a thin type floppy disk device by possessing a vertically extendable and contractable shaft in the rotational center of a medium.
CONSTITUTION: When a medium cassette 1 is to be inserted into the disk drive, the cassette 1 is inserted by pressing down a shaft main body 7 of the shaft 2. Therefore, a clearance B between the cassette 1 and a rotor yoke 4 can be diminished. Then, when the cassette l is to be ejected, the cassette 1 is separated from the shaft 2, and the shaft is extended again to be restored to the original state. Moreover, a spring is used for a pressing means, but other than this, such as a leaf spring and an air damper can also be used as equivalently functionable.
