PURPOSE: To improve the polishing efficiency by employing two beams, and subjecting works held on one of the beams to rough polishing while subjecting works held on the other to finishing polishing, recovering and exchanging with new works.

CONSTITUTION: Finishing polishing vessels 11, 11' are provided on both sides of a rotatable rough polishing vessel 2. Support posts 23, 23 are vertically movably provided between the polishing vessels 2, 11 and between the polishing vessels 2, 11'. A beam 25 oscillatable between the rough polishing vessel 2 and finishing polishing vessel 11 is provided on one of the posts 23, 23, and a beam 25' oscillatable between the rough polishing vessel 2 and finishing polishing vessel 11' on the other post 23. The beam 25' is provided with a spindle head 29' which can be inserted into the polishing vessels 2, 11', and the beam 25 a spindle head 29 which can be inserted into the polishing vessels 2, 11. While works held on one of the spindle heads 29, 29' are subjected to rough polishing, works held on the other spindle head are subjected to finishing polishing, recovering and exchanging with new works.
