To provide a laminate having an action to absorb and remove formaldehyde by using paper or a fiber base material made up of a chemical compound containing nitrogen and/or a chemical compound containing a benzene ring.

Paper or a fiber base material made up of a chemical compound containing nitrogen or a chemical compound containing a benzene ring is manufactured by dissolving the chemical compound in a solvent such as alcohol in the ratio of 3-50 g/m2: 20-200 g/m2 and impregnating the paper or the fiber base material with the solution or coating the solution to the paper or the fiber base material and thermally drying the solution. The formaldehyde-absorbing laminate 30 comprises adjacent unit members 12 laminated in such a way that the corrugations of core base papers 14 are deviated from each other so as to realize the mutual crossing of the corrugations. An air is caused to flow in the arrow X direction from one of the air flow ducts of the absorbing laminate 30 and then the air is vented in the arrow Y direction from the other air flow duct. Thus it is possible to prolong time for the residence of an air in the formaldehyde-absorbing laminate 30 to enhance the efficiency to circulate the air and consequently increase the effect of absorbing/removing the formaldehyde.
