Abstract:
PURPOSE:To form the hard coat layer having good adhesiveness by using UV irradiation of a short wavelength as a pretreatment method for a plastic lens surface. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the plastic lens is irradiated by UV rays of the short wavelength and thereafter, the hard coat layer is formed at the time of forming the silicone hard coat to the surface of the plastic lens consisting of a polymer obtd. by radical polymn. of a monomer mixture contg. an N-substd. phenyl maleimide deriv. The hard coat layer having the good adhesiveness is thereby easily formed even if a hard coat agent with which the perfect adhesiveness is heretofore not obtainable in spite of subjecting the lens to a pretreatment by an aq. alkaline soln. is used. The high-refractive index plastic lens having scratching resistance is obtd.
