Title:
FUNCTIONAL CHROMIUM ALLOY PLATING BASED ON TRIVALENT CHROMIUM ELECTROLYTE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2021036073
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide an electrolyte solution for electrodeposition of a chromium-iron alloy and an electrodeposition method of the chromium-iron alloy, using trivalent chromium instead of hexavalent chromium which is environmentally undesirable and high in waste cost and achieving a thicker or highly functional coating.SOLUTION: An electrolyte solution for electroplating is formed by dissolving a trivalent chromium salt, an oxalate compound, an iron salt, an aluminum sulfate, an alkali metal sulfate and an alkali metal halide in water or an aqueous solution. A method for chromium plating a substrate using the electrolyte solution comprises introducing a cathode and an anode into the electrolyte solution, and passing current through the electrolyte between the anode and the cathode to deposit a chromium layer on the substrate.SELECTED DRAWING: None
