Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simply obtain the subject polymer useful as a raw material for crosslinked cured material, having excellent weather resistance by polymerizing a specific cationic polymerizable monomer and a nonconjugated diene in the presence of Dewis acid. CONSTITUTION:An isobutylene-containing cationic polymerizable monomer (e.g. propylene or 1-butene) is polymerized with a nonconjugated diene of formula I (R is H, methyl, etc.; (n) is 1-30) in the presence of a Dewis acid (preferably SnCl4 or TiCl4 in a solvent, preferably chloromethane preferably at 0 to -40 deg.C for 1-60 minutes to give the objective polymer having a unit of formula II.
