Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new game system which allows a portable game machine to execute a game program downloaded to the portable game machine from another game machine and prevents the game program from being easily erased. SOLUTION: When a cartridge 40, in which an authentication code and the game program are prestored, is mounted in the portable game machine 12, the game machine 12 executes the game program of the cartridge 40. In the mounting of an empty cartridge 41 in which the authentication code and the like are not stored, the authentication code and the like are downloaded to the game machine 12 from another game machine 14, and written into the cartridge 41. When the cartridge 41, into which the authentication code and the like are written, is remounted in the game machine 12, the game program of the cartridge 41 is executed.
